Dear Wayne,
If you ever wanted to help shape the future of CSCPA, here’s a great opportunity! We are currently seeking nominations for the 2010-2011 Nominating Committee, and we’d like you to consider nominating yourself.
What does the Nominating Committee do?

The Nominating Committee is an elected group of members that selects the members of the 25-person Advisory Council and the next year’s president-elect, treasurer, secretary, and two at-large members of the Board of Directors. It also nominates an individual to serve as a Connecticut representative on the AICPA Council.
How many people are on the Nominating Committee? Am I eligible to serve?
  • The Nominating Committee consists of a chairperson and six other members. At least one member of the committee has to be a former officer, director, or governor of the CSCPA.
  • As a member of the society, you are eligible to serve. However, if you wish to serve on the Advisory Council or the Board of Directors in 2011-2012, please be aware that Nominating Committee members are eligible for appointment to the Advisory Council but not the Board of Directors.
What is the time commitment?

The Nominating Committee will meet twice between October 1 and mid-December to conduct its activities. Each meeting lasts 90 minutes to two hours. A third meeting via conference call may also be necessary; that call will be brief if it is needed.
How do I submit my name for consideration for the 2010-2011 Nominating Committee?
  • If you would like to be considered, please respond to this email with “I would be willing to serve if elected” by noon on Friday, September 24.
  • The Advisory Council will be electing the Nominating Committee via electronic ballot after its September 30 meeting.

We thank you for your consideration and your willingness to serve!

- Art Renner, Executive Director
